Gaggiuino GEN3 — Build Guide
Your Gaggia Classic Pro is about to become something else entirely.
Right now it makes espresso. Good espresso, even.
After this build, you'll have real-time pressure profiling, flow control, a temperature that stays where you set it, a touchscreen interface, and a shot history graph that looks like something from a specialty roaster's lab.
The Gaggiuino GEN3 mod, installed in a Gaggia Classic Pro E24 with a Peak Coffee GEN3 V4 Complete Kit, is one of the most rewarding hardware projects you can do on a kitchen counter. It is not hard. It requires patience, reading, and a willingness to follow instructions carefully. No soldering. No electronics experience required.
This guide will walk you through the entire process, one step at a time.
What you're getting into
| Time | 4–6 hours total, spread across multiple sessions |
| Difficulty | Moderate — careful and methodical beats fast |
| Soldering required | None — kit uses pre-crimped connectors |
| Electronics experience | Not required — explained from scratch |
| Reversible | Yes — stock wiring integration is fully reversible |
What you'll be able to do when you're done
- Set custom pressure profiles (pre-infusion, ramp, hold, decline)
- See real-time pressure and flow graphs on the 4.3" touchscreen during your shot
- Weigh your shot automatically with the integrated scales
- Adjust boiler temperature with 0.1°C precision
- Monitor water level with the optical sensor
- Access the web interface from your phone to set profiles remotely
How this guide is structured
This guide follows the same order as a real build. Each chapter covers one phase. Chapters are independent — if something goes wrong, you can come back to the relevant chapter without rereading everything.
Reading a step:
- Steps are numbered and titled: STEP 1 — Unplug the machine
- Part quantities are always explicit: M4 thermocouple probe (1×)
- Warnings are loud:
This is what a safety-critical warning looks like. Read these.
- Tips are quiet:
This is a tip for doing something better or faster.
- Expert details are hidden by default:
For experienced builders — expand for technical details
This is where deeper context lives. Skip it freely.
Quick navigation — where to start
If this is your first session, start at Before You Start.
If you already have the machine open and just need a specific chapter, use the top navigation.
One important note before you begin
This guide covers the Gaggia Classic Pro E24 (model RI9481, released 2024) with the Peak Coffee GEN3 V4 Complete Kit.
If you have a different machine model or a different kit version, some steps will differ. The official Gaggiuino documentation covers all variants.
